Negotiating Lives in Communities

Aims: 

  • Documents the patterns and explicates the consequences for individuals with severe mental illness of the new and often ad hoc arrangements for their care and livelihood; 
  • Identifies provisional corrective measures for the care and livelihood of persons with severe mental illness; 
  • Explores the meaning and effects of work, self-help and other recovery-oriented activities on persons with severe mental illness.
